Collect every Ultimate Ship Plan, unlock the strongest early Jackdaw weapons, and defeat the four legendary ships. This route follows the video order from the first free weapons through the final treasure-map plans and endgame naval fights.
Before you start
- The Jackdaw and its Harbourmaster are unlocked.
- A diving bell is available for the underwater plan locations.
- Treasure maps are required for several buried Ultimate Plans.
- The upgraded mortar requires the late main-story quest Everything Is Permitted.

Unlock the Early Jackdaw Weapons
Unlock the Shrapnel Barrels at Fort Charlotte
Capture Fort Charlotte in the southern part of the map to unlock four Shrapnel Barrels. Throw them from the Jackdaw's stern to shred enemy sails and slow ships before you commit to a broadside exchange. This fort is tougher, so postpone it until the Jackdaw has a few upgrades.
Unlock the Upgraded Mortar through Everything Is Permitted
Complete the late main-story quest Everything Is Permitted to unlock the upgraded mortar. It trades a smaller area of effect for much higher single-target impact and is especially useful against Man o' War bosses. The quest also unlocks the Dead Man crew member, whose ability fires a second broadside volley after the first.

Hull Armor Ultimate Plan at San Ignacio Wreck
After starting Blackbeard's diving-bell quest, enter San Ignacio Wreck in the Dry Tortuga region. Swim to the large chest shown on the map, rather than the smaller chests that hold ordinary loot, and take the Hull Armor Ultimate Plan for 5,000 additional armor.
Round Shot Strength Ultimate Plan at Cabarita Ruins
Dive at Cabarita Ruins in the southwest Nassar region. Follow the long underwater channel north, use the air pocket, and wait out the current in the side section before using the wooden barrier to reach the chest. The plan adds 50 percent damage to your broadsides' round and heated shot.
Broadside Cannons Number Ultimate Plan at the Blue Hole
Dive into the Blue Hole near Fort Charlotte in the south. Swim to the northern side of the underwater area and open the large plan chest. This upgrade adds more broadside cannons and is one of the Jackdaw's biggest direct damage increases.
Swivel Guns Ultimate Plan at Devil's Eye Cavern
Dive at Devil's Eye Cavern in the central Cruz region and follow the one-way underwater trail. Continue around the cavern until you climb into the tunnel containing the chest, then take the Swivel Guns Ultimate Plan before following the current back to the anchor.
Ram Ultimate Plan in Chinchorro
Dive at the wreck site in the southwest Chinchorro region. The chest is directly ahead after leaving the diving bell, inside the visible shipwreck and just past the jellyfish. The Ram Ultimate Plan turns the Jackdaw's ramming attack into a major source of damage.
Harpoon Strength Ultimate Plan from the Mariguana Island Map
Collect the treasure map at Mariguana Island in the Jibara region, then follow its clue to the small island in the northeastern La Aether region. After synchronizing the viewpoint, swim to the palm-covered island and dig up the Harpoon Strength Ultimate Plan.
Fire Barrel Strength Ultimate Plan from the Santanillas Islands Map
Find the treasure map on the rocky outcrop at the Santanillas Islands in the southwest Chinchorro region. Use the nearby beach trees to climb up, then follow the map to the cave in central Cruz. Clear the pirates and dig beside the wheelbarrow for the Fire Barrel Strength Ultimate Plan.
Fire Barrel Storage Ultimate Plan from the Petite Cavern Map
Take the treasure map from the tied skeleton at the back of Petite Cavern in the Puna Guaro region. It leads to Tulum on the opposite side of the map, where the buried chest sits near the synchronization point. Dig it up for the Fire Barrel Storage Ultimate Plan and several thousand Reales.
Mortar Storage Ultimate Plan from the Cumberland Bay Map
Loot the treasure map from the skeleton near the rowboat at Cumberland Bay in Puna Guaro. Travel to Matanzas in Dry Tortuga and dig behind the storage house, beside the waterfall, for the Mortar Storage Ultimate Plan.
Heavy Shot Storage Ultimate Plan from the Cayman Sound Map
Find the treasure map on the northwest corner of Cayman Sound, south of Castillo Jagua. Return to Petite Cavern and search behind the large waterfall between the rock and wooden bridge. The buried chest contains the Heavy Shot Storage Ultimate Plan.
Heavy Shot Strength Ultimate Plan from the Ambergris Key Map
Enter the pirate cave at Ambergris Key in the southwest Chinchorro region and climb into the upper cove to loot the treasure map from the skeleton. Follow it to Misteriosa in the Sarinila region, then dig in the bushes near the small waterfall behind the temple for the Heavy Shot Strength Ultimate Plan.
Defeat the Legendary Ships
Defeat El Impoluto in Dry Tortuga
Find El Impoluto in the Dry Tortuga region. It repeatedly tries to ram the Jackdaw before firing its broadside, so drop explosive barrels behind you as it charges or trail it from behind at an angle that keeps its broadside away. The reward includes the El Impoluto sails, wheel, hull, figurehead, 12,000 Reales, and a ship model.
Defeat HMS Prince in the storm
HMS Prince waits in the stormy fog at the bottom-right of the map. Its metal sides resist swivel-gun critical hits, so focus on the bow and stern. Slow it with chain shots and Shrapnel Barrels before it outranges the Jackdaw with mortar fire. The victory unlocks its ghostly ship cosmetics and model.
Defeat HMS Fearless and HMS Royal Sovereign together
Engage the paired legendary ships in the northeast. Never let both ships line up a broadside at once. Use one ship as cover while focusing the other, keep turning into your target, and finish the second with the explosive-barrel and swivel-gun strategy once the first is down. Their rewards include unique sails, wheels, hulls, figureheads, and ship models.
