Shinigami's repeatable money loop on Skellige: throw a Devil's Puffball near the cow pen at Svorlag, meditate in hour-long chunks to force a stampede of cows to spawn and die, then sell the drops to the bar merchant next door, who fully restocks his gold after just one hour of meditation instead of the usual five days.
Before you start
- Any Devil's Puffball (regular, enhanced, or superior all work; superior lasts through more meditation hours at once)
- Fast travel sign unlocked at Svorlag on the Skellige Isles
Getting to the Farm
Fast Travel to Svorlag and Find the Cow Pen
Fast travel to the Svorlag sign on the Skellige Isles, right beside the barber's shop. From where you spawn in, take the left path, passing a bar on your right, and you'll see two cows in a pen on your left. Climb onto the roof nearby and save your game before doing anything else, in case the glitch causes a freeze or a crash.
Spawning and Collecting Cows
Throw a Devil's Puffball, Then Meditate in Hourly Steps
Equip a Devil's Puffball, regular, enhanced, or superior all work, and throw it just to the left of the cow pen. Don't throw it too close to the nearby NPCs, or they'll turn hostile and block you from meditating. Open the menu and meditate for 1 hour at a time. A regular Devil's Puffball holds up for about 6 hours of meditation done one hour at a time, while a Superior Devil's Puffball can stretch to a full 24 hours, still skipped one hour at a time rather than all at once. Cows will keep spawning and dying throughout.
Collect the Cowhides and Milk
Once the meditation run finishes, loot everything the dead cows left behind. Cowhides sell in stacks of 100 for roughly 4,500 crowns total, and cow's milk sells for around 200 crowns a stack. You'll likely end up overencumbered from how much drops in a single run.
Selling and Resetting the Merchant
Sell to the Merchant Inside the Bar
Head into the bar you passed on the way in and talk to the merchant sitting by the fireplace. He only lets you sell 11 cowhides per conversation, so sell what he'll take, say farewell, and repeat the conversation until everything's sold.
Meditate by the Wooden Post to Restock His Gold
Most merchants need about five days of meditation before their gold refills, but this one is different. Walk just past the fireplace to the wooden post and meditate there for exactly 1 hour, meditating anywhere else won't trigger the restock. Talk to him again afterward and his gold will be fully replenished, ready for another round of selling. Repeat the whole loop from here for as much money as you want.
