About Inscryption Builds
A build in Inscryption is a deck, and what makes a deck work changes completely between the game's acts. In the first act, cards are paid for with blood from sacrificed creatures or with bones from ones that died, so the deck needs cheap creatures to feed expensive ones, and the sigils you stack onto a single card through the various card-modification stations are where the runs get broken. Sigils such as those granting extra attacks, flight, or touch-of-death effects compound when combined on one creature, which is why deck size discipline matters. A small deck means you draw your key card reliably, and adding filler cards actively weakens a good deck. The later acts move to an energy system with a different card pool and different rules entirely, which means strategies do not carry over. Across all acts, understanding how the scales resolve damage, and the fact that overkill damage carries over rather than being wasted, is what separates a functional deck from a winning one.
